Quarry Park and Nature Preserve is located in Waite Park, Minnesota. Originally a granite quarry that provided granite for the Landmark Center and the James J. Hill house in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Operations stopped in the mid 1950's. Once operations stopped the land reverted to a more natural state. The quarry pits started to fill with water, trees and animals returned. The park contains many piles of discarded granite. In 1992 Stearns County purchased the land and in 1998 the park opened.

Today you can swim in 2 of the quarry pits and scuba dive in another 3 pits. Cliff diving is available at one of the swimming locations. You do need a scuba certification card to scuba dive. The water can be 116 feet deep. Rock climbing is available through out the park, but you will need a permit to rock climb as many of the rock piles are unstable.
