Cape Lankester

Cape Lankester contains a fuel cache. Aircraft and expeditions that are running low on fuel can use Cape Lankester to refuel. The fuel cache is stored on top of the snow and marked by flags.

As storms move through the area the drums will get buried under the snow. When they get buried a group will be sent out to uncover them and move them on top of the snow. My group uncovered the drums, then cut a ramp into the snow. We then rolled the drums up the ramp, positioned them on top of the snow, put flags to mark the area and left.

Flags are put out so the drums can be found. The drums are laid on their side so then will not tip over and leak. When the storms roll through the drums will be buried. The flags rise 5 feet above the drums. People who need the fuel can find the flags and thus find the fuel. By noting how much of the flag pole is showing the people know how far they will need to dig to uncover the fuel.
